Shwashwi: Stop crying, pay your taxes rather

While DJ Sbu is out there looking like a voodoo doll, I was out partying with clean boys.

Anyone who reads this section of the paper knows that I am a mega fan of AKA – the man oozes talent – in doses Cassper Nyovest would die to have.

Super Mega threw a small soirée and as a socialite in my own right, I was there to witness a bunch of celebs, media, groupies and other plus ones rock up to celebrate DJ Zinhle’s baby daddy.

AKA was launching his new single titled Lemons Lemonade. I won’t lie, one of the reasons I got excited was the fact that it was held at the Rockets. However, I was a bit disappointed by the flow of booze. The lack of bevs made the event feel like we were invited to help AKA and his friends finish the remaining stock of the banana-flavoured Cruz since he is parting ways with the brand. Hai mahn, don’t invite Shwa when alcohol is not flowing like the river Jordan. Aowa!

My favourite stylist couple, Moozlie and her man, Sbudarex, are still going strong – at least that’s how they carry themselves in public. The one thing I adore about Moozlie is she knows her fashion.

Food was in abundance – I’m sure many wished they had brought their skaftins – particularly now that it is tax season and the tax man is making grown up men cry like they were not enjoying the money when it was coming their way, forgetting we have potholes to fix.

We hope with all the money he is raking in due to his popular podcast, MacG is also paying his taxes – he got a free lesson on what taking the tax man for granted leads to.

I will go back to the AKA event soon – let’s exhaust this tax matter first – because our celebs seem to be oblivious of their responsibilities to their country.

Sunday World has been reporting about tax and celebrities for ages, but our people don’t read. We know some of you have issues with Shwa and this paper, but at least take heed when we report on tax delinquency and the ramifications of such rogue behaviour.

We, like a sangoma, see you buying expensive cars, sipping on pricey champagne and we know it will end up in tax tears.

Get your houses in order and pay your taxes – we are also tired of reporting on people not paying their dues despite driving multi-million-rand cars and partnering every girl with a descent weave.

Grow up and be responsible instead of shedding tears in front of the whole country – a country you’re cheating out of grant funds.

Oh well, the ANC itself is said to owe the tax man. Is there a tax revolt that Shwa doesn’t know about? Funny that the likes of Dr Malinga would perform at the ANC events, forgetting there is the taxman to be paid. Performing at ANC events is no protection fee – Dr Malinga can attest to that.

Back to the AKA event he also had his own tax issues in the past.

Newly single TV personality Minnie Dlamini walked in alongside rapper Yanga Chief. I’m not sure whether they shared the same Uber or accidentally met at the door and then decided to walk in together and sit in the same corner. Anyways, who cares. Let people have fun.

Super Mega performed his new single, which will hopefully be another December banger. As always, he was stylish and on point. Maybe I don’t know Nadia Nakai in person, but I did not see anyone who resembled her. Perhaps they don’t mix business with pleasure. Nadia must not drop the ball. Support your man girl – otherwise you will be left with a broken heart.

  • I also spotted Mbuso Mandela looking sober than usual. You could tell he slept at home the night before. He was not the mess that he usually is – the Mandela name is weighing heavy on the young man.
  • It was refreshing to see the super-talented Idol judge, JR, seemingly glued to the couch. The big music shot was getting everything he wanted from his couch, from booze to food. Now I get where that weight comes from – there is a lack of movement. Maybe someone should challenge him to a celeb boxing match so he can hit the gym.

  • Still on couch potatoes, Hip pop’s First Lady Lerato Sengadi was also hiding in the same corner sitting with DJ Speedsta. Whatever deal they were trying to put together must be important.

Thanks, bye!
