Since when does revenge dress mean ‘come butt naked’?

Since when does revenge dress mean ‘come butt naked’?

It’s 2024 but yours in gossip and Netflix still have unresolved issues, so Shwa decided to gate crash and attend the Savage Beauty season two premiere, which took place in Bryanston, northern Joburg.

One thing about Netflix, they will invite everyone in the industry, even Tik Tokers, and cut down on the media allocation but still have the audacity to send journalists press releases.

Some of the country’s leading thespians made an appearance, all dressed according to the theme: revenge dress.

Throughout the night Shwa was left flabbergasted because, phew, people were really walking around bums naked and all. Maybe Shwa needs to accept that
nudity is the in thing.

It was an opulent affair described by some of the cocktails served as the who’s who of the entertainment industry shared smiles and the cameras clicked away.

The night began with light snacks and some adult beverages to wet the palate before the night’s main attraction took centre stage. It was good to see the late season one actor Mpho Sebeng being honoured by the cast. What a heartfelt moment.

At least some of the actresses on the show such as Rosemary Zimu, Angela Sithole and Nthati Moshesh kept it simple, and did not show up half-naked.

Dominic Zaca could you please teach Tumi Powerhouse a thing or two? Tumi, my dear, the theme specifically said “revenge fashion” and you decided you want to dress up as if you were attending a drag show.

Shwa is happy for you Phila Mazibuko, because I really thought your acting career was dead and buried. Let’s hope your role has some significance to boost that moribund career of yours; fingers crossed.

Speaking of dead acting careers, Nandi Mbatha will you ever get back to acting or are you so focused on them boys? Phela your romantic life literally is what we remember you for more than your acting.

How weird of Omuhle Gela to wear the exact same dress as somebody else at an event. It must have been both awkward and annoying. It was really a battle of who wore it better and who looked better.

The way the likes of Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa took the theme so seriously you’d swear she was going to see Black Coffee at the event and show him what he’s missing out on. I so wish to see what would have happened if he was there because baby girl was the girl she thought she was.

Celeste Ntuli, my dear, love to see you walking the runway. Care to tell Shwa where you got those stockings from?

Thami Dish, sweetie, who did you want revenge on with those exposed thighs? My eyes were never ready for what I saw. When they said “revenge fashion” y’all should have said it’s a thigh and bums out show.

Shwa was really disappointed because Oros Mampofu’s screen time did not even last a minute, it kind of reminded me of my own failed two-minute relationships.

Aubrey Mbatha, the house husband, as he calls himself really thought he was the star of the show. Haaibo, it seemed he wanted to own that runway. This is not Dubai, boo; it’s just Bryanston.

Happy Simelane or rather Her Majesty, what was the reason for you coming to the event? I mean momma looked lost and bored. It is okay, dear, to sit some things out and bond with the kids at home. Let’s not force things, neh?

Rami Chuene, what are you up to these days besides attending events in the same colour braids over and over again or is this your way of embracing old age?

While on matters hair, Langa Mavuso was that you coming out of your shell with that new pink hairdo or what?

Shwa also spotted the likes of Linda Sokhulu, Mo Setumo, Rosette Ncwana, Desmond Dube and Sivenathi Mabuya.
