Why is ‘The Wife’ being snubbed?
Whoever is responsible for the South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas) must really have a personal vendetta against The Wife. I think we can all agree that The Wife actors gave us their best in their last season.
Not even one cast member was nominated for an award. I mean, people would go crazy on Thursdays after episodes were released.
Zikhona Sodlaka, who played the role of Mandisa, gave us such a stellar performance during that season. It wasn’t only her, but Thulane Shange, who played Mqoqi, also grew his craft. Compared to other seasons, he has improved, and Moi believes that a nomination wasn’t gonna hurt anyone.
Anyway, Shwa is happy for everyone who has been nominated and hopes that the Saftas don’t become like the Samas. I mean, we all know what they did to Babes Wodumo for the Wololo hit that had everyone on their feet years ago.
