Popular Dikana mansion from ‘The River’ telenovela up for sale

The iconic Dikana mansion from popular award-winning telenovela The River is up for R11.5-million sale.

The mansion is located in the upmarket Ruimsig suburb in Roodepoort, Johannesburg.

This comes as the 1Magic show wraps up production for good following a six successful season runs, multiple awards including 26 Safta (SA Film and Television Awards) gongs and adaptions of the show in other countries including Nigeria and Angola.

The luxurious mansion, which has been listed on Property24, comes with cool features including the famous Oracle club as part of the package.

The home is exclusively listed by Mzansi Cribs, a luxury home-selling company owned by Media personality Thato TT Mbha.

Mbha told Sunday World that the mansion was put up for sale just under three weeks ago and started receiving traction this week when the news went viral on social media.

“We recently listed it, just under a month ago. I have been getting a lot of requests from people asking about it,” said Mbha.

“Most enquiries are just fans, but there are some buyers who are interested.”

Mbha has a trademark of selling upmarket homes to high-profile figures including Connie Ferguson. He said he sold the house to The River production house, Tshedza Pictures, when filming started in 2018.

“Remember I had sold on this house initially in 2018, they bought it from me. So now that they have stopped production, they have asked me to sell it,” he said.

The Dikana mansion has been making the rounds on social media with fans showing fascination over its interior.

It has also come as a shock for most fans to learn that the mansion is also the home for Refilwe settlement, which is a makeshift set in the same yard as the Dikana house.

Paulinah’s tavern was also set up in the same yard and the famous Khanyisa Mines was also next to the tavern in the same yard as the mansion.

Mbha said buyers can negotiate to have some of the popular features on the show as part of their home package if they want.

“Even the bar, the Oracle, comes with the house. The guys are not going to dismantle anything, so the buyer can keep everything as is. We are open to offers. People must make offers, it is a great buy,” he added.

Mbha also sold the mansion where The Queen was filmed. He revealed that he is working on a brand-new luxury home show which will be broadcast on MacG’s Podcast and Chill YouTube channel.
