The Durban July kicked off in full splendour at the Greyville Racecourse on Saturday.
The fashion studded event this year is themed ‘Out of this World’.
Lwandlekazi Zwezwe-Lubisi from the PMB School of fashion won the Hollywoodbets young designer Award. Zwezwe-Lubisi said the win was a great kick start for her fashion career.
“I have the full backing of the Durban July so I this is a good start for me as I am about to start in the fashion industry. What inspires me when I design are my surroundings. I grew up in a Indian community so when I was found an out of this world expression of the theme I used a Hindu dress and it’s texture.”
Celebrities came out in their numbers with outrageous outfits to fit the theme.
