A case of arson has been opened after a house in Zebediela Estate in Limpopo burnt down early on Sunday morning.
It has been reported that at least three fire incidents were recorded in the estate within a month. No arrest has yet been made.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said a preliminary report indicates that construction was taking place at the said house.
It is reported that the fires have caused extensive damage to the multimillion-rand estate.
“According to a report, a security guard noticed fire coming from one of the houses. The fire brigade and police were then immediately notified,” said Malesela.
“The fire brigade personnel tried to put out the fire but the house had already caught flames and it burned down.”
Police investigations are under way.
