Another Isibaya actress exits the popular show

Isibaya actress Jessica Nkosi has jettisoned the show.

Nkosi, who plays the role of Qondi in the Mzansi Magic soapie, follows in the footsteps of her ex-best friend, Nomzamo Mbatha, who left the show early this month.

Nkosi confirmed that she was leaving the show. “It is true that I’m leaving Isibaya. I’d like to explore the industry and expand on my craft a little further. It was time for me to leave. I’m so grateful to the Isibaya team for helping me establish myself in this industry with such an incredible cast and crew. I’m still on the show and viewers will have to watch to see when my last episode is. To the viewers of Isibaya, I say thank you,” she said.

According to two well-placed sources within the show, it is not clear why she is leaving
the show.

“The cast members have not been informed that Qondi is leaving. It was shocking to learn that another cast member was bowing out from Isibaya after she has been with the show for years. Something is happening but we are not sure why there are so many unhappy actors in the cast,” the source said.

Another source in the cast said the Esikhawini, KwaZulu-Natal-born actress would leave the show on the premise that she was going to Ghana.

“We are busy shooting scenes of Qondi preparing for her trip to Ghana. In that scene, she will go as someone who is visiting but never returns to Ebhubesini. It is sad but at the same time we wish her all the best as there is no one from the show’s directors and producers who has informed us about her shocking exit from the show,” the source said.
