Convicted drug dealer Glenn Agliotti has died

Glenn Agliotti, a convicted drug dealer and accused in the murder of South African mining tycoon Brett Kebble, has died.

Agliotti reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The news of his passing has been confirmed by the police in Gauteng.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said they can confirm that an inquest docket has been opened at Douglasdale police station to establish the cause of Agliotti’s death.

“A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” said Masondo.

Agliotti was a key state witness in the prosecution of Jackie Selebi, the former commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS).
 
In 2021, Sunday World reported that Agliotti and his former wife Lelani were accused by a Joburg businessman of refusing to pay back almost half a million rand he they had duped him into investing in their “cigarette company”.
