A man was found lying dead on the road after the paramedics were called to an accident scene on the KwaMashu highway in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.
The deceased is believed to have been hit by a light delivery vehicle.
Emer-G-Med said in a statement that when its crew arrived at the scene, the deceased remains were scattered across the road while the occupants in the light delivery vehicle were not injured.
“Upon arrival on scene, the crew was met with carnage as the remains of an adult male lay strewn across the road,” said Emer-G-Med.
“Due to the high impact of the collision, the victim’s left leg got amputated. It was found lying on the north bound carriageway while his body was located on the southern side. The man was declared dead upon arrival of the paramedics.”
The scene was handed over to the police for further investigation.
