Johannesburg – South African women continue to make admirable strides in all kinds of businesses.
Their enterprises create much-needed jobs for many others.
In fact, research shows that women’s participation in entrepreneurship on the continent is rising.
Remarkably, women continue to make strides in business despite many systemic hurdles, including a lack of capital, a lack of supportive networks that could pump resources into their enterprises, an environment that doubts their capabilities, as well as customary expectations.
But still they rise. They push against barriers to pursue their dreams and lead lives full of meaning.
They are our Heroic Women.
Sunday World is on a quest to find some of these phenomenal women.
Please nominate any woman who inspires you with their grit, vision and determination to excel. We are looking for inspirational women in the following fields: women in academia, women nurturing in the community, women leaders in business and industry, women in law, women in ICT and science, women in agriculture, women in construction and engineering, women in healthcare, women in the environment and sustainability sector, women in the public sector and women defining sports, arts and culture.
