The MultiChoice Group launched its first-ever School of Leadership. This will be a new and first-of-its-kind faculty at The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
The company has several (Corporate Social Investment) CSI programmes, and this new faculty is another initiative in the group’s portfolio.
This new initiative is geared towards catapulting bright African talent and thinkers into the world of sports, media, and entertainment.
The new faculty aims to empower graduates through valuable skills development and leadership training. This as they futureproof themselves against the competitive world of sports, media and entertainment industries.
Hub for producing Africa’s top sports, media & entertainment leaders
This new faculty walks alongside these curious and creative cohorts of artists, professionals and athletes. The MultiChoice School of Leadership promises to be a hub for producing some of Africa’s top sports, media and entertainment leaders.
Calvo Mawela, CEO of MultiChoice Group, on Thursday made the announcement at GIBS, where the CSI programme was launched.
Mawela said the newly launched School of Leadership will be a game-changer. It aims prepare the graduates to be captains of industry in the said fields.
New league of business leaders
“As a long-standing partner with GIBS, we are proud to once again work with the institute. This as we launch a faculty that is tailored to identify and train a new league of business leaders. The initiative also promises to leave a long-lasting legacy in the sector,” said Mawela.
This will be an invitation-only programme. Where candidates will be hand-picked to gain access to curated programmes and resources. These will propel them in the talent sector that MultiChoice operates in.
Participants of the School of Leadership will be given the tools and resources necessary for their future. The future of fostering leadership and contributing to the sports and media industries. Also towards establishing their own legacies on local and global stages.
