Nzuzo Njilo court case postponed again after lawyer no-show

Controversial businessman Nzuzo Njilo’s fraud case was postponed after his lawyer did not show up in court on Wednesday.

Njilo and his co-accused Kwanda Ntshangase appeared before the Port Shepstone magistrates’ court on Wednesday on a fraud charge.

The matter was postponed to November 22 after both their legal representatives were absent in court.

Njilo told the court that he will be getting a new legal representative.

He did not disclose the reasons behind the new development.

Ntshangase’s state-funded lawyer was off sick.

Botched truck sale

The controversial businessman and his accomplice are accused of allegedly defrauding a woman of half a million rands.

The duo allegedly sold her a truck in 2021 and failed to deliver it. They each face a charge of fraud linked to the dodgy sale.

In May, Njilo made headlines after police posted his picture on social media as a wanted man accused of fraud.

Njilo and Ntshangase handed themselves over to the police.

They were held in custody before receiving bail of R30,000 and R3,000 respectively.

Marital woes

On Sunday, Sunday World reported that Njilo and media personality Faith Nketsi’s marriage collapsed after allegations of fraud.

Nketsi said Njilo sold her vehicle, whose make and model she did not disclose, and failed to account for what he did with the money.

“She said Njilo defrauded her of the proceeds of the sale of her vehicle,” said Nketsi’s associate, who did not want to be named.

The associate also said Nketsi, who is frugal, felt betrayed by Njilo’s alleged caper and kicked him to the kerb in January this year.

The ravishing model took their daughter Sky, said the associate, and went to live with her in her bonded house in Edenburg, Sandton.

Njilo went to live in Blue Valley Estate, Midrand, where he rents an apartment.
