Former president Thabo Mbeki is a wise statesman. This week, he once again hogged headlines. He told South Africans, and the ANC that his organisation did not need million members to become an ethical party. In his words, “better fewer but better”
As if to rub salt in the wound, the wise man chastised Paul Mashatile, warning the deputy president it was unbecoming of the ANC to use its majority to stymie the multi-party committee to probe the Phala Phala scandal.
We cannot agree more.
