Moegoe: Kaizer Chiefs fan

Unruly Kaizer Chiefs fans last weekend displayed their Olympic-level throwing skills, leaving match officials ducking for cover.

Let’s just say, they really aimed for the wrong kind of “goal”. And while fans were busy perfecting their shot-put techniques, Kaizer Chiefs officials were not to be outdone in the spectacle department.

The sideline saw coach Nasreddine Nabi starring as the overly dramatic contestant vying for a rose (or perhaps a red card). Condemnation for these actions must come swiftly.

The art of throwing missiles, after all, should be reserved for military training exercises, not a Saturday afternoon soccer match.

  1. It ì about time we get competent match officials to avoid provoking the hooliganism in the soccer loving fans.
I’m not saying what the fans did was right but if the officiating was not that poor we wouldn’t have seen that.
If in the game of Stellies and Pierats, what happened was against pierats believe we would be saying something different. Refs wins man of the match every weekend and it’s boring. VAR now

  2. “Moegoe of the week” belongs to the one who wrote an article nine days after the incident. Without defending Chiefs fans, but they had reason to be anger. Officiating in South African soccer has become extremely appalling and it is truly astonishing for individuals to justify such incompetence.
“Condemnation for these actions must come swiftly.” I am sure you were referring to the root cause and not Chiefs supporters. What happens next time if supporters wait for officials outside the stadium and pull an old school on them? The root issues need to be addressed urgently, instead of being a moegoe and writing nonsense articles. Seems like you are obsessed with Kaizer Chiefs!!!
