The failure of the ANC Youth League to start its elective conference at Nasrec on time, with electoral processes marred by credential disputes and alleged interference by certain mother body leadership, is concerning – and leaves much to be desired.
The eight-year hiatus in which the Young Lions were in the wilderness, it seems, gauging by the weekend performance, gives the impression that no lessons were learnt.
The vested and manipulative interests by the older folks of the organisation, as we understand it, appear to stand in the way of progress. But that does not exonerate the youth league for not conducting its conference appropriately.
