Ever heard of the mantra, “Arrive Alive”? Useful words that must, always, remind us that safety, in all places is also equally important on our roads, which are used by millions of motorists. We cannot afford to drive recklessly, irresponsibly and without care for the safety of all.
As the festive season approaches, the volume of traffic on our roads will correspondingly increase, with many South Africans taking to the roads for leisure and other reasons such as visiting friends and family.
This is a huge responsibility. It requires us all, including pedestrians, to act with caution and consideration towards each other’s safety.
Life is valuable, including life on unborn foetuses.
So, as we go about our merrymaking ventures during this festive season, let us be mindful, as we drive our vehicles, of the need to consciously be aware of the responsibility we all carry, which is to protect all lives – for each of us has only one life, which we should guard with our own lives.
