Power FM mutes Pabi as it probes conduct

Popular radio host suspended after being rude to caller

Popular radio and TV personality Pabi Moloi has been suspended from her Power FM job.

This after Moloi sounded incoherent on air and also ill-treated a caller during her show on Saturday last week.

The station mandarins are investigating what could have caused Moloi’s incoherence, including the possibility that she might have been under the influence.

Power FM MD Leslie Ntloko confirmed that Moloi, who was arrested for drinking and driving early this year, had been suspended from the station pending the outcome of the investigation.

“We can confirm that we have placed her on suspension pending the outcome of an internal investigation. Unfortunately we can’t comment further as this
is an internal matter,” he said.

Two of the station’s employees, who did not want to be named for fear of victimisation, alleged Moloi was incoherent on air and also humiliated a caller when she told the caller to stop talking without full stops and commas in his sentences.

“That was so embarrassing and humiliating. From there the station manager Leslie
Ntloko was inundated with phone calls from the listeners asking if Pabi was drunk or [if] she was sick. Some demanded that she be fired from her job for bringing the station into disrepute,” said the station employee.

Another employee said that some of Moloi’s seniors wanted harsher action taken against
her, but it could not be proved that she was under the influence because no action was taken to subject her to tests.

“But they can charge her with bringing the the station into disrepute by humiliating the listener,” said the employee.

Moloi could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
