Motorists will again pay more for fuel from Wednesday, according to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, which said the 93 and 95 unleaded petrol and LRP will increase by 51 cents while diesel will jump by R1.42 per litre.
Over the past few months, motorists enjoyed a short reprieve when fuel prices started to drop considerably.
Bennie van Zyl, general manager at TLU SA, said everyone is affected by the rising diesel price.
“There is no doubt there are several farmers who now must look at the numbers to see if it is still profitable for them to plant with all the input costs that are increasing,” said Van Zyl.
“The government must realise that there are big problems here if the situation is not addressed urgently.”
