Actress Asavela Mqokiyana welcomes baby girl to the world

Former Isibaya actress Asavela Mqokiyana has given birth to a baby girl, she announced on social media, sharing a snippet of her daughter’s face.

Mqokiyana revealed that she gave birth in August.

“A couple of seconds later with her dad watching as they attended to her. My gyne closing me up played A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, I bawled yho, a beautiful moment with my husband being here welcoming our daughter to the world,” she wrote.

In August, Mqokiyana revealed the gender of the child, and that she was pregnant with a baby girl.

A month earlier, she told fans that she had a bun in the oven. This after she shared in April 2022 that she was off the dating market.

She took to her Instagram at the time to share images of her traditional wedding ceremony in the Eastern Cape.

Not much is known about her husband, but she revealed that the couple has been together for years.

Mqokiyana also revealed that she married into the Mqokiyana family and that her husband’s family had given her a new name, Kwande.

Another celebrity who has welcomed a second child is media personality Ayanda Thabethe.

The Celebrity Game Night SA host posted a picture of her holding her baby boy in the back seat of a Mercedes-Maybach.

Thabethe said she gave birth on September 9.

“If you think my hands are full, you should take a look at my heart,” she wrote. “Praise to Jesus Christ.”

She is not new to motherhood having already raising Peter Junior, her one-year-old son.

Thabethe announced her second pregnancy in July, which was followed by pictures of her all-white baby shower attended by family and close friends.

“My baby shower felt like something out of a fairytale. My little snowflake is on the way and we can’t wait to meet our little king,” she wrote at the time.
