Cyan Boujee to appear in court for cellphone theft

Media personality and popular DJ Cyan Boujee is expected to appear at the Midrand magistrate’s court on Friday for allegedly stealing a phone.

The police in Midrand confirmed that the controversial media personality, whose real name is Honour Zuma Zacn, was arrested in the early hours of Friday after a case of theft was opened against her two weeks ago.

Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said: “A case of theft has been opened at Midrand police station … The suspect was arrested in the early hours of this morning and is expected to appear before the magistrate’s court today.”

Popular blogger Man’s not Barry Roux alleged that Cyan Boujee was nabbed on Friday morning on her way from a performance at a well-known nightclub Cofi for allegedly stealing an iPhone 13.

In her latest Instagram post which was updated eight hours ago, she is seen deejaying at the popular joint where she was booked to perform at its After 5 Sessions along with Metro FM DJ Lamiez Holworthy.

This is not the first time the controversial media personality had a brush with the law.

In 2022, the deejay and influencer opened a case of assault against her boyfriend and Nigerian afrobeats musician Bamzy Riches for allegedly assaulting her.

Following the alleged assault, Bamzy was arrested but went on to open a counter charge of assault against Cyan Boujee claiming to have also been assaulted.
