Makhosazana “Khosi” Twala, the first contestant to get inside the Big Brother Titans house, on Sunday walked out of the house as the winner of the reality television show.
After several intense weeks, Khosi (South Africa), Ipeleng (South Africa), Ebubu (Nigeria), Tsatsii (South Africa), Kanaga Jnr (Nigeria), and Yvonne (Nigeria) made it to the finale.
The highly anticipated, border-breaking #BBTitans was a fusion of Big Brother Mzansi and Big Brother Naija featuring 20 housemates from both countries.
Khosi, a journalist by profession, was nominated throughout the entire season, week after week, but managed to dodge the eviction bullet.
She has now walked away $100 000 (R1.7-million) richer.
Speaking at the winner’s lunch at Artistry restaurant in Sandton, Johannesburg on Monday, Khosi shared that while in Biggie’s house, she learnt a number of things about herself.
“I was able to manage my weaknesses and strengths, and I think I conquered all the way. I learnt how to make silence move, [and] still stay loud on the outside, and nobody saw me coming,” she said.
Speaking about her cash price, the KwaZulu-Natal-born contestant said she will [use part of the money to] give back to the community, and should anything in the media come her way, she will grab it with both hands.
“From a winner’s perspective, I think I would have wanted the winner to be Ebubu or Kanaga Jr, because I believe they are really good people. I wouldn’t mind losing to them.
“With Thabang, I did not play him, the feeling was really mutual and it was hard not to like him.”
One of the things that Khosi missed from the outside was bubble-gum, and having friends on her corner to advise her, and the biggest lesson was crossing paths with people who saw her potential.
