Iconic Brenda Sisane back behind the Kaya mic to jazz it up

Seasoned radio presenter Brenda Sisane has returned to jazz up Kaya 959 studios one more time.

Sisane will put on the headphones and get behind the mic to present the most famous The Jazz Standard with Brenda Sisane between 12pm and 3pm on Sundays.

The news comes after Sisane’s two-year absence from radio, which she has been using to focus on her other abilities outside radio.

Sisane is a firm believer that jazz has offered the world an opportunity for everyone to narrate their heritage.

She told Sunday World that listeners could expect to journey with her as they explore the vast terrain of jazz music.

“It is a gift to be doing what you love with people who you share a common interest, the past two years have been a great opportunity to use my other talents and interest,” said Sisane.

“There are many stories that still need to be told concerning the genre, and we would like to do more in this vein.”

Beefing up weekend line-up

Colleen Louw, Kaya 959 managing director, confirmed the return of Sisane and said her return will move the radio station’s weekend line-up forward.

“We are delighted to have Brenda Sisane return to the airwaves,” said Louw.

“This move is in line with strengthening the weekend line-up, responding to the needs of our listeners, and making sure we continue to be the number one choice in Gauteng.

“Brenda is an icon and Kaya 959 is her home. Welcome back Brenda.”

Kgomotso Meso stays on the 959 Weekend Breakfast between 6am and 9pm, T Bose on Touch of Soul from 9am to 12pm, Spade of Warts presented by Xola Dlwato from 3pm to 6pm, and Nicky B on The World Show between 6pm and 9pm.

“We not only deliver relevant news but also engage in inspiring conversations. Our presenters, while being prominent figures, are also the friendly voices around the corner.

“They are authentic and relatable, addressing topics that profoundly impact everyday life,” Louw said.
