Letoya turns to poetic verse as love boat sails stormy seas

Revered actress Letoya Makhene and her wife, Lebohang Pulumo, have contributed a script to the episode of celebrity couples who break up and rekindle their relationship at the drop of a hat.

Sunday World can exclusively reveal that the couple parted ways earlier this year for unknown reasons.

Former Generations: The Legacy actress, Letoya had allegedly moved out of their marital home after a fallout with Lebohang and moved into the Kempton Park property, which has been occupied by her ex-husband, Privilege Mangezi.

The couple has since rekindled its love and repaired the marriage.

Contacted for comment, the two love birds asked for written questions to be sent to them.

In a written response, Letoya and Lebohang said communication, love and respect were key to sail through challenges couples face in relationship.

Lebohang said regardless of how challenging the situation may be, there comes a time when loves rekindles as that they love each other.

“Relationships and marriage are not easy. But if we want to and if we choose to, we can make life much easier and bearable.

“If we choose each other over and above anyone else and agree we want to spend the rest of our lives together and close each other’s eyes when the day comes, all the better…

“There will always be differences, there will be fallouts, there will always be misunderstandings, there will always be people who do not wish you well and cause conflict, there will always be challenges that are beyond comprehension,” said Lebohang.

Letoya emphasised that what mattered most was how they found common ground as a couple, forgave each other, and rose above all challenges with good hearts.

“Having an emotionally mature partner is important.

“You’re able to express your thoughts and feelings, openly.

“They don’t insult you; they don’t ignore you, they don’t become aggressive, or manipulative. They listen, they respond, they patiently hold space for you.

“Your soul mate is someone who’s committed to working things out with you and doesn’t see breaking up as an option.

“They are willing to have difficult conversations and are always devoted to finding solutions that make the both of you feel secure, reassured, andhappy in your relationship,” said Letoya.
