Adult entertainer Xoli Mfeka has spoken out about how reality show This Body Works For Me changed her life.
Mfeka, who is considered one of the pioneers of the adult entertainment industry in South Africa, has explained why her role is minimized in the second season of the show.
“I got a call from my brother to tell me that my mother and grandmother were in the hospital. So that is why I am going up and down, from here to there,” she said.
As she was not able to commit to filming the second season of the reality show on a full-time basis, she said she was positive about her time on the show.
“Being on this show changed my life in many ways. I am grateful for it,” said Mfeka.
“As adult entertainers, we hardly get these opportunities, so this is really amazing and the platform is great.”
She also spoke about her fractured relationship with Wandi and how it makes her feel.
“Wandi sued me after we shot a movie. That broke my heart because I really did like her and I have always wanted all of us to win.
“It is now weird that she and I are no longer talking. It is very disappointing.”
This Body Works For Me season two is currently streaming on Showmax.
The reality series about the South African adult entertainment industry was an instant hit when it debuted in 2022.
In the first episode of season two, viewers get introduced to Mfeka, Bubbly, Gina, Primadonna, and Wandi Ndlovu – as well as newcomers Diamond, Dione Xanthe, and Lebo.
Mfeka brought Xanthe on the show last season to shoot a scene with her and Wandi, her former bestie-turned- rival.
Wandi said ever since she got onto the show, she has become famous.
“I am now famous and people recognize me everywhere I go. It is so weird but I like it a lot. I never thought it would be me who is famous one day.”
Gina wants audiences to see a human in them and not judge them for what they do for a living.
“I am a mother and a daughter who comes from a very religious family. Even though I am an exotic dancer, I have not forgotten where I come from,” said Gina.
Bubbly said being a businesswoman is not easy, she wants to expose viewers to her ups and downs in her line of work.
Xanthe on the other hand hopes that her story will resonate with all the survivors of abuse.
”My life has not always been easy. The things I have gone through should have broken me, but I am still standing. That should be a lesson for other people,” said Xanthe.
Diamond is all about showing up authentically as herself.
“I am going to be myself throughout,” she said. “I do not feel the pressure to change myself to fit in. I am me, and that is enough,” said Diamond.
For Primadonna, filming the show has improved her confidence, she shared.
“Before filming season one, I was confident but something happened to me after that season which made me even more confident in myself and my decisions,” said Primadonna.
Lebo explained: “People should watch this season because there is something for everyone. There is representation and I feel like audiences will be able to see themselves in each one of us.”
