SuperSport captain Ronwen Williams speaks ahead of Tshwane Derby

Johannesburg – SuperSport United will clash with their Tshwane rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership this coming Wednesday, and Matsatsantsa’s captain Ronwen Williams is geared up and confident of the much-anticipated derby.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming encounter, Williams says, “Obviously we coming from a disappointing result having to lose at home, we didn’t put the effort and the performance, while we trying to work on our mistakes, we are now gearing up for the next game.”

“Sundowns [The champs] they have been doing well throughout the season, they haven’t lost the game, but we going to this match to go and fight and defy our mistakes, and give it our best,” added Williams.

“We not going to make it easy for them, we need to get the points in the booth, and we are on verge of closing the gap since they are leading the log,” he said.

“Back-to-back games help us to enjoy and give it our best,” said Williams.

Matsatsantsa-A-Pitori were stunned by Marumo Gallants after going down a 2-1 loss last Saturday, and this loss has significantly dropped points for the Pretoria side.

Meanwhile, Sundowns were held to a goalless draw by Cape Town City at the Mother City on Saturday, but the yellow and blue outfits remained four points clear at the top of the league standings.

The two giants of Tshwane will meet on Wednesday at Loftus Versfeld stadium, and kick-off is at 17:30.
