Netball SA, Joburg thrilled as Telkom Netball League takes off

The stage has been set and the eagerly anticipated 2024 Telkom Netball League (TNL) is slated to get underway at the Ellis Park Arena, in Johannesburg on Friday.

Netball South Africa and the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) have since expressed their excitement about hosting what is expected to be another season of jam-packed action.

While excitement mounted for this prestigious league, Netball SA and the CoJ assured the public of their preparedness to facilitate a successful and memorable tournament.

Netball SA president Cecilia Molokwane emphasised the importance of upholding regulations for fair play. And ensuring a level playing field for all teams.

Competitive, exhilarating tournament

“We are excited that all teams met the specified criteria and are looking forward to a highly competitive, exhilarating tournament,” Molokwane said.

Speaking on behalf of the city, director of Sport and Recreation Siyanda Mnukwa expressed excitement about Johannesburg’s role as the hosts for the TNL.

“The City of Johannesburg is fully prepared and excited to host the Telkom Netball League. We have diligently worked to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for a successful and enjoyable tournament. This for players, officials and spectators alike,” said Mnukwa.

Mnukwa added that Johannesburg awaits for the first centre pass of the tournament. This as the city prepares to showcase its passion for sport and hospitality.

The 10th edition of the TNL will witness 16 participating teams competing for victory and glory in their respective divisions.

It is scheduled to run in three power-packed weeks from April 26 to May 5, May 31 to June 5, and June 13 to June 19.
