The PSL has announced that tickets for Saturday’s Nedbank Cup final match between Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United have been sold out. The game, that has drawn such a huge interest, will be played at the Loftus Stadium and kick-off is at 6pm.
On Thursday morning, the league released a statement saying that tickets are sold out and they are advising those that have already bought tickets to arrive early at the stadium and that gates will be opened at 2pm. Those without tickets should not to go to the stadium.
The two teams do not usually draw huge crowds in their matches but this time around, the build-up to the cup final has resulted in lots of interest from the supporters. Pirates want to finish the season on a high, they have already won the MTN8 and finished number two on the DStv Premiership. Winning the Nedbank Cup will be a cherry on top for the Buccaneers supporters and coach Jose Riveiro. The Spanish, who is a enjoying a successful maiden season with Bucs, has also been nominated for the 2022/23 PSL Coach of the Season award.
Ba Bina Noko, as Sekhukhune are affectionately known, have seen a huge turn around and they have become a force to be reckoned with since Brendan Truter took over the coaching reins. The Limpopo side finished seventh on the log table after a faltering start to the season.
