Johannesburg – A former teacher accused of repeatedly raping a learner at Mbilwi Secondary School in Limpopo has been granted bail of R3000 at the Thohoyandou Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Regional Spokesperson of the Director of Public Prosecutions Limpopo Division, Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi, said the 50-year-old, Makhuvha Solomon allegedly raped the 17-year-old girl repeatedly in 2018.
He allegedly threatened the victim and offered money for her silence.
The court granted him bail on the following conditions; that he must not communicate with the victim in any manner, he is not to leave Limpopo province without informing the Investigating Office and to report to Sibasa Correctional Services every last Friday of the month and to appear on each and every court date.
The case was postponed to 16 August 2021.
