Johannesburg – South Africans have been left feeling underwhelmed following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit to Durban following the week-long destruction that the province endured from massive looting and violent protests.
South Africans took to Twitter with many saying that Ramaphosa’s appearance on the ground was simply a publicity stunt and his security forces did not act swiftly enough to ensure safety in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Take a look at what some Twitter users had to say about the president’s visit below:

Cyril did a 2 minutes walkabout in KwaMashu and answered only 2 questions bese wahamba.

We are expecting President Cyril Ramaphosa in Pietermaritzburg in the communities not in the empty looted malls.
We want him talk to his people about what happened. The media didn't loot, he must address the communities who looted.
I forgot he's afraid of his people

Imagine after spending the whole night defending "our mall",then the next day you are not allowed in because you are black

But let’s wear our thinking cap on this one. You reside KwaMashu and your community didn’t lift any finger to call the looters in to order. And you drive to Umhlanga to buy bread, where people had to guard the infrastructure at all cost. Let’s be frank on this one.

President @CyrilRamaphosa should fire all his security cluster ministers. They were all fast asleep when the country went up in flames. There needs to be accountability! @GovernmentZA @PresidencyZA

I am pleased that provincial officials, led by Premier Sihle Zikalala, MECs and other leaders, were first on the ground to assess the impact of the public violence and deal with the situation. Our soldiers and our police were also on the ground to deal with a difficult situation. pic.twitter.com/dm6bW5ahfY

President @CyrilRamaphosa is in KZN and the army tanks come out. They should have been their last weekend already! And where were the thanks and soldiers when civilians and businesses came under attack? @PresidencyZA
