South Africa’s COVID-19 appears to be on the verge of reaching half million in the mid of August if the infection speed is anything to go by.
On Sunday July 19, 13 449 people tested positive for the disease , shooting the infection number from 350 879 to 364 328,Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said.
Mkhize also said 85 more COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the killer disease, increasing the deaths figure from 4948 to 5033.
” We convey our deepest condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased,” he said.
Mkhize also said the number of patients who had beaten the disease had spiked from 182 230 to 191 059, which translates to a recovery rate of 52.4 percent.
