Celebrations all night long as Springboks defend World Cup title

The whole of South Africa is in jubilation as the Springboks successfully defended their Rugby World Cup crown after a hard-fought, narrow 12-11 victory over New Zealand at a fully packed Stade de France on Saturday night.

Parties and braais went throughout the night in almost all corners of the country.

The heart-stopping victory means that the Boks have now won their fourth World Cup title and become the first ever team to achieve that feat.

Thanks to three clinical first half penalty conversions from seasoned flyhalf Handre Pollard.

Take nothing away from the Boks’ second to none defense, as they protected their lead against an aggressive All Blacks side.

Coach Jacques Nienaber has bowed out in style, as this was his final game in charge of the mighty Springboks.

For the second successive time, SA President Cyril Ramaphosa was there to hand the champions their trophy. He did it in Japan in 2019 and it was the same again.

Go Bokke!!!!
