Johannesburg – Award-winning actor and television leading man, Thobani Nzuza, who took the country by storm portraying the hopeless romantic hitman Mndeni, on the television drama, eHostela, is gearing up for a new role on Mzansi Magic’s top-rated telenovela, DiepCity, Black Brain Pictures has announced.
The KwaZulu-Natal-born talent is set to make his DiepCity premiere appearance on Monday 5 July 2021 in the role of Smangaliso, a handsome and successful business owner with ulterior motives.
Nzuza will be joining the likes of Nozuko Ncayiyane, Dawn Thandeka King, Mduduzi Mabaso, and Hamilton Dlamini, on the much loved primetime telenovela. DiepCity is based in the gritty world of Diepsloot and follows the story of 4 young women who come from nothing but refuse to allow the daily realities of life to stop them from chasing their dreams.
“The transition from Mndeni to Smangaliso is going to be one for the books. Black Brain has entrusted me with an exciting and unconventional character that will allow me to challenge myself as a performer “, says Nzuza, ”I am thrilled to be part of the exceptional cast of Diepcity”, he adds.
Spawned with a host of fresh new talent that has had audiences hooked from the first episode, DiepCity continues to draw viewers with its authentic style of storytelling. The addition of Smangaliso’s character promises to give fans even more reason to stay glued to their screens.
