TKZee’s Magesh dies of suspected epileptic seizure

TKZee’s Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala has died.

The family, which confirmed his death in a statement on Monday, has appealed for privacy to deal with the loss of their loved one, saying the funeral details would be announced at a later stage.

The son of soccer legend Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala, Tokollo is believed to have died as a result of an epileptic seizure.

TKZee, one of the pioneers of kwaito, was headlined by composer Zwai Bala, Kabelo Mabalane, and Tokollo. The childhood friends met at St Stithians College and the group shot to fame in the 1990s.

Among a string of their hit songs is Shibobo, dedicated to the 1998 Fifa World Cup and featuring the then Bafana Bafana soccer star and now Manchester United coach Benny McCarthy.

Tokollo, Kabelo and Zwai of TKZEE took the crowd back to the 90’s.
