Comair promises to reimburse clients

Comair has publicly promised to refund its clients after Kulula and British Airways flights were suspended at the last minute on Wednesday.

The troubled airline’s CEO Glen Orsmond said plans to reimburse all those affected were underway.

This is only after customers aired the frustrations, after they had already booked and were left stranded. Others has purchased tickets that were advertised as a “special” the previous day.


Comair said the reason for grounding was because they were struggling financially.

“There are a several setbacks that have exaggerated the liquidation, which include the Covid-19 pandemic and the revocation of its operating license by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that lasted for a week,” said Orsmond.

Comair also had to cancel its flights in March after the CAA indefinitely suspended its operating licence. The local carrier had failed to convince the CAA that it had fixed safety concerns uncovered by the regulator following an investigation into a string of mishaps.
