Iconic Legends Barbershop signs its first brand ambassador

Botswana comedian and rapper Bofelo William Molebatsi, popularly known as William Last KRM, has been signed by the country’s top rated barbershop, the Legends Barbershop. The popular comedian and TikToker will be their first brand ambassador.

The men’s hair and grooming outlet’s website describes it as Africa’s top rated barbershop.

It is also popular with the country’s high profile clients and celebrities.

New chapter for comedian

This move opens a new chapter for William. Legends Barbershop founder Sheldon Tatchell told to Sunday World about the future plans for the brand. He said there are long-term plans to create a Legends product line for William. The product will be under the Legend’s brand with his face on.

He told Sunday World that there are many friends of the brand. However, William stands out. He said anything he creates and puts on his social platforms that’s linked to the brand gets many views and interactions. It also draws more clients to the brand.

Legends Barbershop made this big announcement at their headquarter barbershop and office in Northriding, Joburg, on Friday evening.

In a interview with Sunday World, William did not hold back his joy, confidence and sense of humor. He stated that the secret ingredient to being a Legendary brand ambassador is to be a William Last.

Consistent content

The comedian said he felt honoured and privileged to be handpicked as the first brand ambassador for the brand.

“My partnership with Legends Barbershop started in 2022. I was always a friend of the brand. However, to be the brand ambassador makes me feel like I have a special place at the company,” he added.

William said he thinks that the consistent content linked to the brand on his socials gave them reason enough to trust him as their brand ambassador.

Perfect timing
“However, I do not think that there was a criteria. It was just the right time and God’s timing.”

William shared his plans for the brand. He plans to promote the brand by showing up at its launches and events. He will also teach people how to use the brand’s products. This he will do with the content he shares on his social media platforms.

“And very importantly, I plan to stay consistent,” he said.

Youthful and fun place
He described the Legends barbershop as a youthful and fun brand that always aligned with creatives.

He added that the barbershop aligns with the comic side of his brand as an individual.

Tatchell said he is very excited as this is a big deal for two brands to come together and grow.

“It was easy to pick William as we have built a solid and strong relationship over the past two years. He grooms himself very well and the stand out point is that he relates to us and our clientele. This is a move that can gain good market space for our brands, working together is always a good idea.”

Big future plans

To the others who were not chosen, Tatchell stated that it is not the end. He said the brand is open to more brand ambassadors and working with influencers in the future.

Tatchell started cutting hair from his stoep in Eldorado park, outside Soweto. He launched his company in 2011. At the moment, he owns 70 branches and, has a long term plan to have 200 barbershops.

He will launch his third barbershop in Botswana later this month.
