Tourism indaba a boost for village hospitality sector

More than 150 properties located in villages and small towns were awarded certificates of compliance and recognition for completing the basic quality verification (BQV) programme during Africa’s Travel Indaba in Durban this week.

Africa’s Travel Indaba is the biggest travel and tourism event on the continent and brings together captains of industries, travel agents, tourism ministers from various countries, and the continent’s tourism investors and operators under one roof.

It commenced on Monday and concluded on Thursday in Durban’s iconic International Convention Centre.

The BQV programme is operated by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, a business unit of South African Tourism.
