Business executive Mangena and wife head to splitsville

The marriage of former television actor turned businessman, Loyiso Mangena, is in ‘business rescue’.

Sunday World can exclusively reveal that Mangena’s wife, Marianne, has kissed him off after about 10 years of marriage.

Mangena, a former kwaito artist known as Chippa, has since vacated their matrimonial pad in the affluent suburb of Parkmore and now stays in Bryanston, north of Joburg in Gauteng.

News of their separation, which was kept hush-hush, was revealed by a source, who was heartbroken by the disintegration of the two former lovebirds’ union. The deep throat, who did not want to be named for fear of victimisation, said Marianne seems to have made up her mind about leaving Mangena, as she has also discarded her marital surname and is now using her maiden one, Kenny.

The mole said Mangena and his wife started experiencing marital problems a few months ago. In a bid to save their faltering matrimony, Mangena, the former CEO of Pamodzi, pleaded with his wife to seek counselling, but she allegedly refused and insisted that she no longer carries the torch for him.

“Loyiso told us that Marianne was no longer treating him like her husband, despite asking her to work with him to rekindle their love and save their marriage. He even asked her several times to go to mediation in a bid to save the marriage, but she refused,” said the mole.

The tipster added that the two did not even communicate meaningfully, and as a result, Loyiso lost some love, affection, and respect for her too.

“Now he too no longer wants to continue with this marriage; he wants out. We are heartbroken because they loved each other. We all thought they would age together as husband and wife and raise their grandchildren, but we were wrong.

“But the fact that they have not initiated divorce proceedings means they still have a chance to save this marriage and raise their two young children.”

The source said Mangena has said if they ended up divorced, he wants Marianne to take their multi-million pad and continue to pay the bond for it.

“Apparently the house is worth at least R5-million, and less than R2-million is left as an outstanding balance,” said the informant.

Marianne feigned ignorance when we contacted her for a comment. “I think you are talking to the wrong person, but please phone me after 30 minutes because I’m in the middle of a Zoom meeting,” she said.

She later ignored our phone calls.

Speaking for himself, Mangena said: “I have no comment, my brother, go back to your sources.”
