Rapper and businessman Refiloe Phoolo, popularly known by his stage name Cassper Nyovest, has announced that he will be celebrating a decade since the release of his first album, Tsholofelo.
Taking to his socials, Cassper reflected on the milestone and shared that he would be doing a proper celebration at the Zone 6 venue in Soweto on October 26.
“It has been 10 years since my first album Tsholofelo dropped, though I did this without any record label backing, no financial support, and no marketing budgets,” he wrote.
“I never felt alone cos [because of] you, the fans. The fans were and remain my strongest partners in this journey.”
Cassper was the first South African musician to make history when he performed for about 68 000 people at the Fill Up FNB Stadium concert in 2017.
The event organisers said at the time that about 72 000 tickets out of 75 000 were purchased for the event.
The rapper had also packed the 20 000-seater TicketPro Dome in 2015 and sold about 40 000 tickets for 2016’s Fill Up Orlando Stadium concert.
Rapper’s infidelity
The celebrations come after Cassper last week apologised after he was exposed for cheating on his baby-mama while she was taking care of their sick child.
Thobeka Majozi revealed that she had to deal with the rapper’s infidelity while their son was in and out of the hospital due to cancer.
Majozi shared that their son was diagnosed with the disease at just eight months, but he is now cancer-free.
She also said that Cassper and his current wife had started their affair while she was still dating the rapper.
“At eight months, my son was diagnosed with cancer. An entirely different world. I always stood for protection and privacy,” wrote Majozi at the time.
“Trying to maintain ‘the world’ and my world was a marathon on its own.”
Cassper confirmed that everything that Majozi said was true.
“Earlier this year, I went on Mpumi Ledwaba’s podcast to share the type of life I used to live before,” he said.
