Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Abongile Abobo Salli was the first housemate to be evicted on Sunday night.
Abobo, who now plans to spend time with family, his partner, and his baby, shared that he had a mix of pride and disbelief.
“I am just proud of myself, to be honest, for making it this far. It was really not a child’s play to be in that house, you know, mentally and physically,” said Abobo.
The 10th eviction live show consisted of high-energy performances from Makhadzi and an unexpected yet entertaining takeover by Lasizwe and the Popcorn, and Chill podcast crew, who had the audience laughing.
Three housemates evicted
With just a few days left until the grand finale, the competition reached fever pitch as three housemates saw their journey come to an end, leaving the official top five in the house.
The host of the eviction show Smash Afrika acknowledged Siphesihle Masango’s impressive run, and she could not hide her emotions.
“I am extremely humbled and so grateful. I did not think I would make it this far. I am shocked and obviously sad to leave, but you know, I am shocked I even made it this far, Smash, and that is the truth,” said Siphesihle.
She went on to reveal a personal milestone: “I am also not leaving empty-handed but with R7 200.”
Grand finale on Sunday
Struggling to put her emotions into words, vibrant and driven housemate Siphesihle Lekwadu, affectionately known as Mshini, said she was shocked.
“You know what, Smash? I am in disbelief. But there is nothing else I can say except that I am grateful for the opportunity to be on the show,” said Lekwadu.
Only five housemates remain as they edge closer to the grand finale on Sunday, where the season five winner will be crowned.
Still on the run for the grand prize are Jojo, Uyanda, Nate, Sweet Guluva, and Nsuku.
