The last episode will broadcast on January 31 2025, with production for the season having concluded last month.

The star-studded telenovela features seasoned actors such as Jo-anne Reynecke, Sello Maake ka-Ncube, Tumisho Masha, Kwenzo Ngcobo, Kgomotso Christopher, Keitu Sankola, Thato Dithebe, Minki Malatji, Rethabile Mohapi, Thabo Malema and many more talented cast members.

“Firstly, to our cast, Tshedza Pictures, sponsors and advertisers, thank you for your ongoing support for Champions. And for your efforts in entertaining our Mzansi Magic viewers,” said Shirley Adonisi, director of local entertainment channels.

Development of several new show concepts

“Mzansi Magic plays a pivotal role in entertaining viewers during prime-time. And we continue to keep up with the latest television trends. We are currently in the development of several new show concepts not limited to telenovelas. And we are fine-tuning our key returning shows to ensure that Mzansi Magic’s prime-time 2025 slots are well received.”

Former The Wife star Ngcobo plays Zipho, who is a titan in the space of talent management. While Mthembu plays Ferrari, who was once the crown jewel of South African football.

Former Generations and Skeem Saam actor Sello Maake ka-Ncube portrays the role of Washington Modise. Modise is a former player-turned-entrepreneur.
Star-studded cast

Tumiso Masha stars as Philemon Modise, who is overshadowed by his brother Washington.

He feels the world has yet to acknowledge his true worth. And his narrative is one of greed, sibling rivalry, and the relentless pursuit of personal acclaim.

Dithebe stars as Lebo Serite, who has aspirations to conquer the grand football stadiums and lift his family out of poverty. He is fueled by a potent mix of talent, charisma, and determination.

Riveting storyline

In a world where the competition is tough and the stakes are high, Sne Modise, played by Reyneke, is a symbol of resilience. All mixed with ambition in a male-dominated soccer empire.

Sne is battling the storm caused by sudden changes in her father Washington’s life. As a result, she is thrown into a series of challenges, love, and betrayal.

While battling the intense drama, as the underdog, Sne stands at the top. She is determined to challenge the gender norms and lead the Soshanguve Giants FC to success.
