The annual Crown Gospel Music Awards, which celebrates 16 years of grace this year, has been moved from the Orlando Stadium in Soweto to the FNB stadium on November 26.
The awards have begun their build-up projects with community workshops and a Gospel music talent search in five areas. These places include Kagiso Memorial, Sebokeng – AFM Church, Daveyton – Rhoo Hlatshwayo Centre, Diepsloot – Methodist Church, and North Saulsville Arena.
Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, executive producer of the awards, said: “We are bringing collecting agencies, personal branding specialists, entertainment lawyers and music coaches. The talent search will also see the winners getting an opportunity to perform at the Crown Gospel Music Awards stage on November 26.”
“So far, we are pleased with the number of applications received and we look forward to receiving more. In total, we have 30 categories, with two new ones, including the most streamed category and the live event category. We encourage artists to take advantage of these,” said Rofhiwa Nethengwe, head of talent at the Crown Gospel Music Awards.
Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture, and Recreation, Morakane Mosupyoe, called upon Gauteng-based artists to take full advantage of the workshops scheduled to take place across the province.
