Phillip Ndou, the former boxer famous for his punching power and winning 30 of his 32 fights by knockout or stoppage, will share his life with viewers in a six-part docu-drama series Time Bomb – The Incredible Story of Phillip Ndou.
The series, which will be aired on Mzansi Magic in 2024, promises to be more than just a sports documentary. It is a journey through time, tracing the life and career of one of South Africa’s finest.
From the beginning Ndou’s life was set to be extraordinary.
He was born on the side of the road, setting the stage for a life filled with odds constantly stacked against him.
His rise to the top of the boxing world, and notably his bout against the legendary Floyd Mayweather, is just part of the intricate fabric of Ndou’s life.
Life journey of a champion
“Behind every champion there is a human story and as a channel it is important for us to celebrate our heroes and inspire generations to follow,” said Shirley Adonisi, director of local entertainment channels at M-Net.
The episodes will delve deep not just into the high-adrenaline world of boxing, but more into Ndou’s personal battles, dreams, regrets, and his mission to inspire the next generation of sports enthusiasts on the continent.
This is not just an ordinary story of a sportsman. It is the journey of a son, a father, a partner, and above all, a champion.
The docu-drama series paints an intimate portrait of Ndou’s highs and lows in life.
The legendary boxer’s fans are in for a treat as they will stay gripped, inspired, and moved by Ndou’s true life story.
