Season 34 of SABC1’s cherished soap opera, Generations: The Legacy, is expected to enthral viewers with a dynamic cast refresh as it welcomes four formidable actors.
Morula Pictures has announced the arrival of Tinah Mnumzana, Nozuko Ntshangase, Phillip Tipo Tindisa, and Sannah Mchunu, each bringing vibrant characters to the award-winning drama.
With compelling new storylines, the show promises to keep viewers glued to their screens.
Mnumzana joins as Ausi Nokwazi Lukhozi, a street-savvy hustler whose impulsive nature and persuasive charm make her a force to be reckoned with.
Nokwazi is fiercely loyal to those who pay her way, with a silver tongue that can sell anything. Once a beauty, her reckless lifestyle has left its mark, but her unapologetic confidence shines through.
A dream come true
“Joining Generations – The Legacy is a dream come true,” Mnumzana said.
“The cast, including Manaka Ranaka, and the crew have embraced me warmly. It’s an honour to be part of such an iconic production.”
Nokwazi makes her debut on June 30.
Ntshangase steps into the role of Vuyelwa Nxumalo, an ambitious journalist determined to make her mark before turning 30.
Educated at elite private schools, Vuyelwa is methodical and driven, with dreams of hosting a global investigative TV show.
Beneath her polished exterior lies a hidden empathy she struggles to suppress in a competitive world.
“I am thrilled to bring Vuyelwa to life on the biggest soapie in South Africa,” Ntshangase shared.
“The opportunity to join Generations is incredible, and I can’t wait for viewers to see her journey.”
Vuyelwa will appear on July 9.
Tindisa portrays Donald Brave, a hardened survivor shaped by life’s relentless challenges.
Fresh from the mines as a zama-zama, Donald is bitter and cunning, yet he harbours a compassionate core.
With minimal formal education, his wisdom stems from hardship, and while skilled with guns, he fears his potential for violence.
“Being part of Generations: The Legacy is a privilege,” Tindisa stated. “I’m excited to contribute to this iconic show and connect with its passionate audience.”
Donald’s story begins on July 11.
End of the road for two cast members
Mchunu takes on the complex role of Sis’Phindi MaNxumalo, a woman of quiet strength and hidden turmoil.
Modest and kind, Phindi conceals her guilt and shame behind a protective facade, revealing a sharp edge when provoked.
“When I got the call, I was overjoyed,” Mchunu said. “Joining Generations is a blessing, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to shine.”
Phindi debuts on July 23.
The show also welcomes back Buntu Petse as Nontle Majola, adding further depth to the drama.
However, fans will bid farewell to detective Pele Dali Malinga (Andile Nebulane) and Dr Siphesihle Cele (Pearl Noxolo Monama), marking the end of their memorable journey.
