The much-anticipated Kasi Worship Concert organised by gospel artist JRoss is set to bridge a gap between township gospel scene and international worshippers.
In an effort to foster unity and collaboration, organisers have unveiled an impressive line-up of both local and international artists who will grace the event.
Taking place on October 28 at the iconic Soweto Theatre, the Kasi Worship Concert will be preceded by a series of music production workshops from October 24 to 27.
The line-up features an array of talented artists including US-based Anointed Friends, winners of the prestigious Consequences Competition.
Founded by Roz Thompson, the female gospel group comprises four singers – Brittany Dawson, Tiffani McCutchen, Tyeshia Reels, and Roz Thompson.
The group’s mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through soul-stirring music.
Joining them on stage will be renowned local gospel musicians and a newcomer to the gospel scene.
Keke Phoofolo, born and raised in Pimville, Soweto has emerged as a prominent figure in South African gospel music all while maintaining a humble spirit.
Phoofolo will also grace the event with his presence.
Also on the line-up is Nqubeko Mbatha, a renowned gospel musician who always captures the audience with his performances that touch many hearts.
Eric Reverence, originally from Ghana but resides in the UK, is an international award-winning songwriter and passionate evangelist. He is also coming to perform.
Gifted local musician Chantel Krishnasamy is a newcomer to the gospel scene and will seek to win over many followers.
Krishnasamy brings a fresh perspective and undeniable talent to the stage.
Event organiser and director JRoss said: “The main objective of the concert is to create a harmonious platform where local and international gospel artists, regardless of their level of recognition or musical style, can come together and unite through the power of music.”
