TV presenter and actor Masego “Maps” Maponyane is the host of a brand-new show on Mzansi Magic which will honour industry legends.
The show, Mzansi Icons, celebrates icons and shares lessons behind their success. The personalities who will be featured on the show will enjoy an unadulterated interview, sharing what makes them tick and what it took to get to where they are.
The show will cover their success stories, fighting against odds, victories, overcoming adversity, struggling with success and the rewards that come with it.
Shirley Adonisi, director of local entertainment channels at M-Net, said South Africans love their media personalities and the opportunity to get to know them, noting that she is confident that the viewers will enjoy Mzansi Icons.
“With a host who has shown his relatability and is versatile enough to dive deep into topics as deftly as he can keep things light, audiences will have a new show to add to their list of Mzansi Magic favourites,” said Adonisi.
Guest appearances will include kwaito icon Kabelo Mabalane, sports executive Jessica Motaung, musician and entrepreneur Khuli Chana, and marketing doyen Zibusiso Mkhwanazi.
Mzansi Icons will premiere on October 18 on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) at 8pm.
