New telenovela ‘My Brothers Keeper’ to replace Gomora

A brand new telenovela My Brothers Keeper will replace the award-winning telenovela Gomora which premiers on Mzansi Magic on October 23. 

Gomora, which is in its fourth season has broken viewership records a month after it premiered, three years ago. The last episode will air on October 20.

Produced by Rhythm World, the team behind the hit telenovela Umkhokha My Brother’s Keeper is the tale of a family drawn into a deadly succession battle of its own making.

It tells the story of Nqubeko, played by Wiseman Mncube. He is the headstrong and overambitious son of a mistress, tired of being side-lined by his father.

Nqubeko decides to break the rules of ‘ukungena’ by going after his brother’s widow, Fakazile (played by Zola Nombona). She is the woman who holds the controlling power to the Shabalala family empire.

Nqubeko’s mad quest for power and need for his father’s approval puts him on a collision course with his four half-brothers. He threatens to tear down the Shabalalas and their future.

My Brother’s Keeper stars Wiseman Mncube, Zola Nombona,  S’dumo Mtshali, Lindani Nkosi, Nelisa Mchunu, Rosemary Zimu, Vuyiseka Cawe, Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala, Nkanyiso Mchunu, Sparky Xulu, Raphael Griffiths, and Nthabiseng Kgosana.
