Mzansi Magic’s hit telenovelas Isibaya, Gomora and The River season three have run out of episodes to flight due to the nationwide lockdown.
As a result, Isibaya and Gomora will pause flighting as of April 24 while The River S3 will last until May 8. This has called an urgent change of lineup.
The River viewers will be treated to an hour-long show as of April 27. This will see featured characters, Cobra Mokoena and Oupa Manamela getting involved in crime, which will see them in loggerheads with the owners of Khanyisa Diamond Mine, the Dikanas.
Somizi & Mohale: The Union will replace Isibaya as of April 27. M-Net Local Entertainment Channels director, Nomsa Philiso, said they will continue to give fans the best of local entertainment shows.
The Queen has also joined the sinking ship caused by the COVID-19 lockdown in the country. According to a statement released yesterday, the Mzansi’s loved telenovela will be replaced by Utatakho Season 8 on Tuesdays, Madam & Mercy Season 1 on Wednesdays, Papa Penny Ahee Season 4 on Thursdays and Seng’khathele Season 2 on Fridays.
The Real Housewives of Johannesburg will premiere on Mzansi Magic from May 1 until May 20 and will be replaced by Madam & Mercy afterwards.
M-Net Local Entertainment Channels director Nomsa Philiso said they were doing best to ensure that viewers are still entertained while staying at home during the lockdown.
“With these changes to our line-up and a host of award-winning shows, viewers can still enjoy a riveting line-up of great entertainment to make staying at home more bearable. It is after all about #stayathome,” said Philiso.
“Viewers now have time to catch up on their favourite shows and we are excited to keep them entertained with a double dose of a drama series that has received recognition on the global stage.
“M-Net continues to enjoy healthy relations with our content suppliers and we are all working together to ensure that our customers don’t miss out on a single moment of excellent entertainment, even when production has to take a break,” she said.
