TikTok hosts educational games night to empower users

Social media platform TikTok hosted an educational games night to empower users and businesses in Parkhurst on Thursday.

The educational games night was to separate fact from fiction.

It also addressed any lingering doubts about the platform and imparted valuable knowledge to help users and businesses drive their success on TikTok.

TikTok has emerged as a transformative platform within the digital media landscape, inspiring billions of people around the globe to share their expertise and talents through the power of short-form video content.

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, disinformation, misconceptions, and false narratives pose a threat that can cast a shadow over the incredible potential of platforms like TikTok.

Greg Bailie, sales lead: global business solutions at TikTok sub-Saharan Africa, said the platform has become renowned for workshops that impart dynamism and vibrancy.

“It has also provided a safe and inclusive space that provided invaluable insights about the 21st century’s most impactful entertainment and marketing tool,” said Bailie.

Fortune Mgwili-Sibanda, government relations and public policy director at TikTok sub-Saharan Africa, said through informative sessions, they have been able to address common misconceptions about the platform, particularly those linked to data storage and privacy.

“Ultimately, a better understanding of its security features leads to greater trust and higher usage of the platform,” said Mgwili-Sibanda.

Through a programme of information sessions, presentations, and discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the platform’s robust safety measures and unparalleled commitment to user safety and data protection.

Beyond being a playground for creativity, TikTok has emerged as a powerful marketing tool for businesses looking to expand their reach and engage with a dynamic audience.

The TikTok for business segment of the workshop shed light on various advertising and
marketing opportunities available to brands and how they can harness these to create impactful campaigns that resonate with respective audiences.

Added Bailie: “At TikTok, we believe that knowledge is power. By empowering users and their communities with the knowledge to excel in their respective fields, we believe they will garner greater awareness of the potential of the platform and witness first hand the endless possibilities that await them.”
