Unrepentant amapiano star Scott Maphuma’s train wreck week

Amapiano star Mpho Innocent Junior Lebojoa, famously known as Scott Maphuma, has flatly denied that a North West club booked him.

This comes after Vogue Lounge 014, an establishment in Rustenburg, posted a statement on its Facebook page announcing the cancellation of Scott Maphuma’s scheduled performance.

The unrepentant Uyaphapha Marn hitmaker further called his critics a “piece of sh*t.”

Scott Maphuma was allegedly booked to perform at Vogue Lounge on May 31 but was later removed from the line-up.

The club’s management stated that they had no choice but to cancel the appearance due to complaints from patrons.

Club’s management listens to patrons

The statement reads: “We have listened closely to your feedback and concerns regarding the upcoming performance by Scotts Maphuma. As a brand that stands for community, respect, and inclusivity, we do not take your voices lightly.

“After careful consideration and with full respect for the sentiments expressed by our loyal guests, we have made the decision to withdraw Scotts Maphuma from our entertainment line-up. We deeply appreciate the continued support, honesty, and engagement from our community.

“Vogue Champagne Lounge is, and will always be, a space where all feel heard, valued, and welcome.

“We’d love to hear from you. Feel free to suggest artists you’d like to see perform at Vogue Champagne Lounge.”

Vogue Lounge was approached for comment but turned down the request.

A lady who refused to identify herself said: “We have no further comment. We’ve said everything in our social media statement.”

A few hours later, Scott Maphuma posted an AI-generated apology on his Instagram page, attaching his name to it.

The apology initially fooled many of his followers and industry peers, who commended him for taking accountability.

Celebrities such as Black Coffee, Makhadzi, Babes Wodumo, and TT Mbha were among those who applauded him.

Scott Maphuma’s vague apology

However, on Thursday morning, Scott Maphuma went live on Instagram and issued another vague apology.

“This is an official video, and I was being honest. I see that some people don’t believe me. To my followers, I’m sorry; I understand that I’m a role model to some of you.

“I know that haters want me to give up, but let me tell you something: just pay your witch doctors because I’m not going anywhere. I’m really apologetic about my actions, but I was provoked and got angry.

“They lied about me. I’m not even fighting. You see, I’m old school, and I just love my zol [cannabis]. I’m not here to justify myself.

“Now that I’ve spoken to my fans who support me, I want to address my haters, the pieces of shit. Yes, you haters, what were you saying? Now I’m listening.”

He also took aim at Vogue Lounge, claiming that the establishment never booked him.

“I wasn’t booked by Vogue Lounge otherwise; they must share proof of payment. They must prove to the public that we had an agreement and that they cancelled me,” he said.

Attempts to get hold of Scott Maphuma were unsuccessful.
