The nominees for the seventh edition of the Royalty Soapie Awards were unveiled on Wednesday evening on SABC 1.
The Royalty Soapie Awards are the only industry-focused awards honouring daily television dramas in South Africa.
Eric Macheru and the talented Hellen Motsuki of Skeem Saam were in charge of hosting the nominee announcement.
The Royalty Soapie Awards (RSAs) nominees are comprised of actors, creatives and the behind-the-scenes technical teams who bring the magic to our screens on a daily basis.
Founder and owner of the awards, Winnie Ntshaba, expressed her excitement. She said they were excited to have reached the seventh stage of the road to the RSAs.
Recognised talent from all the years
“The submissions for the eligibility period opened in August 2022 and closed in August 2023. Entries took place last year in March, but the RSAs wanted to ensure we recognised our talent from all the years,” she said.
“We have gone an extra mile to ensure that there are measures in place to properly screen all entries received. This is for compliance with the relevant rules of the awards. The rules, regulations and submission checklist were all published on the RSA platforms.
“Based on the public votes, for example, the Viewer’s Choice Best Actor and Viewer’s Choice Best Actress awards and Your Favourite Show in the respective categories, we urge the nominees to go out hard and campaign to their fans.”
This year’s 7th Royalty Soapie Awards ceremony will be held on August 24 2024, at Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria.
